Entries for 2016 IDI Irish Design Awards Now Open


In this extraordinary year of celebration and reflection for Ireland, the DESIGN:RISING2016 IDI Irish Design Awards officially opened for entries on August 23rd 2016. In this monumental year the award organisers hope to elevate how Irish Design is perceived, engaged with and appreciated across the international stage. This is the 18th Annual Irish Design Awards, recognising, celebrating and promoting exemplary design vision, uncovering emerging talent and honouring outstanding achievement across all disciplines of Design in Ireland.

The IDI Irish Design Awards exists to recognise, celebrate and promote exemplary design vision in Ireland. The awards showcase the best work across seven categories including Structures & Spaces. This category covers Domestic Interiors, Commercial Interiors, Exhibition Design, Set Design, Built Structures and Architectural Design. The Awards recognise outstanding achievement across the design spectrum in Ireland, uncover emerging talent and focus a spotlight on the importance of Irish design in the national and global context : economically, culturally, holistically.

The IDI has assembled an illustrious panel of jurors for 2016 – Irish Architecture Foundation Director Nathalie Weadick, co-founder of Bompas & Parr Harry Parr, freelance designer Graham Thew, luxury leather designer Úna Burke, Senior Design Advisor at the Centre for Excellence in Universal Design James Hubbard, and Creative Director for Deliotte Digital Clare Dowling. We ask you to submit your best recent work to help us present and promote this seminal year across a diverse and inclusive range of design categories and disciplines.

The Awards are open to full and Graduate IDI members. The IDI Irish Design Awards 2016 are sponsored by the Fumbally Exchange.
