Registration is now open for the AIARG Conference 2016. The 5th annual conference of the All Ireland Architecture Research Group will be held on 29-30 January in the Cork Centre for Architecture Education (CCAE).
The All-Ireland Architecture Research Group (AIARG) is an organisation that aims to promote architectural research within practice and academia. The group was founded in 2010 through the collaboration of the seven schools of architecture in Ireland, both north and south. Each year an architecture conference is held in one of the schools. The aim of the conference is to highlight new areas of architectural research, encourage collaboration and facilitate dissemination of findings. The main body of the conference will consist of twelve thematic sessions, which were selected through an open call. Each session will typically have four paper presentations investigating the theme in question.
On Friday evening, the AIARG are delighted to welcome Charles Jencks as keynote speaker, followed by the conference dinner. There will be 12 sessions with 50 paper presentations, and a City Walk led by Tom Spalding. On Saturday afternoon, the conference will close with a site visit of recent work by O’Donnell Tuomey at St. Angela’s College. On attendance of the two-day conference 12 cpd points may be earned.
