The Royal Hibernian Academy’s popular 184th Annual Exhibition features strong architectural content this year, including projects by Noreile Breen, Antoin Doyle, Gerry Cahill, Yvonne Farrell, Hugo Lamont, Bucholz McEvoy Architects, Carson and Crushell, McCullough Mulvin and Res Publica.
“The architectural content steers clear of the stereotype formula of displaying presentation models of completed buildings”, says RHA President and architect Des McMahon. “Avoiding the ‘look at me’, which lays a dead hand on many architectural exhibitions, most of the participants have chosen to present in more abstract format varied expressions of either their observations on how people respond to place or how they actually think as their designs for buildings emerge. The show is about process not product.”
On Wednesday, 18th June 18th at 5.30pm, Des McMahon will lead a talk and tour, giving an insight into the architectural content within the wider context of the exhibition
