Architecture Expo starts this Sunday | RDS Main Hall | 9 – 5pm

Architecture Expo returns to the RDS this Sunday 4th and Monday 5th October.

The exhibition has become an important date for architects and architectural technologists to find out about innovative new products, network with colleagues and industry leaders, and gain valuable CPD Points. Architecture Expo has doubled in size this year since its debut in 2012. The exhibition is an excellent opportunity to meet technical staff from the companies for invaluable face-to-face discussions. Why not bring technical challenges you experience on projects to the show and get specialist advice from the suppliers.

Awards at Architecture Expo

This year’s Architecture Expo presents again the Architects’ Choice Awards as well as the Interior Design Awards. Registered Architects and architectural practices were eligible to submit interior design projects that were completed in the past two years and demonstrated quality and innovation in interior design. Last year’s overall Winner was architect Amanda Bone for her exhibition design for the World Flower Show. The jury for the Interior Design Awards includes Gary Mongey (Chef), Cathy Prunty, Maria Kiernan, Knut Klimmek and Architecture Ireland editors Sandra O’Connell and Michael Hayes.

Dynamic features

This year’s Architecture Expo includes a number of dynamic features that broaden the appeal of the show and make for a more interactive experience for visitors. For instance, the Insulation Best Practice demonstration area will feature life-size cut-away examples, live demonstrations and continuous presentations involving interactive question and answer sessions. Meanwhile, the CPD Theatre will feature an extensive programme of seminars, a key one being the BIM Breakout Session hosted by Ralph Montague, Chair of the RIAI BIM sub-committee takes place at 2.45pm on the Sunday, in the Auditorium, in the main Conference Hall. Definitely not one to be missed, it will include case studies and video testimonials. Looking to the future of architecture, there will be a dedicated presentation area featuring the work of high-achieving final year architecture students. These will be presented in full-scale with multiple display boards and related models. All the universities and colleges will be represented with a separate area dedicated to architecture technologists.
