PLACE has organised two free walking tours in partnership with Creative Centenaries led by the Nerve Centre, Derry~Londonderry and funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
A century ago the impact of both the Easter Rising and the Battle of the Somme were felt throughout Ulster, particularly in Belfast. This walking tour will explore Belfast’s connections to these historic events, from the Belfast woman who brought a typewriter and a Webley revolver into the heart of the Easter Rising, to finding out what connects Robinson & Cleaver and the Somme’s Ulster Memorial Tower.
