Designing Policies, an exhibition by the Intelligence Unit in Limerick City Gallery of Art, is now open and runs until Friday, 2nd August.
The Intelligence Unit (IU) is a collaboration between the School of Architecture and the Kemmy Business School of the University of Limerick. The exhibition reveals the outcome of an eight week programme in the Limerick City Gallery of Art featuring graduates and faculty of the University of Limerick, bringing their collective ideas and experiences to consider a possible future for Limerick.
The project introduces a design-led approach to thinking about the city, county and university and suggests ways in which they might work together to improve Limerick.
Analysis was made through research and public participation from which a number of potential initiatives naturally emerged. Researchers looked at developing an artisan food network, the opportunities offered by Limerick’s special areas of conservation, the re-occupation of the city’s Georgian quarter and how to incentivise participation in education.
