The Interior Architecture and Design Awards is the dedicated awards scheme at Architecture Expo acknowledging and encouraging all areas of interior design. Today’s buildings are required to be functional, creative, and sustainable, and to support occupant wellbeing. Designers are responding to these challenges and the awards aim to showcase the very best projects completed within the last year.
The awards will be announced and presented on the first day of the show with winners and short-listed projects exhibited on the dedicated Interior Architecture and design Awards stand for the duration of Architecture Expo. The winners will also be featured prominently in Architecture Ireland magazine and on the Architecture Ireland website.
The awards’ main sponsor is Walls Construction. Maria Kiernan of Kearney Kiernan Architects will chair an eight-strong judging panel of noted industry experts, including members of Architecture Ireland’s editorial board.
There are four interior design and fit-out awards.
- Projects up to €250,000
- Projects between €250,000 and €1 million
- Projects between €1 million and €5 million
- Projects over €5 million
Submissions must be made on A1 kappa-style boards — presented horizontally — and include images, sketches, drawings, and a brief explanatory text. Up to four boards for mounting in sequence can be included. Boards must be anonymous and only show the name of the project. Helvetica must be used throughout. The name of the practice and project title must be submitted in a sealed envelope and delivered, along with the board(s), to Architecture Expo, 9 Sandyford Office Park, Sandyford, Dublin 18, no later than 12 noon on Friday, 20 September 2019.
