The Architectural Association of Ireland (AAI) presents the work of MCM/McCullough Mulvin Architects for the next installment of their public lecture series. McCullough Mulvin Architects develop work through parallel explorations – in landscape, climate, typology, history, geology and archaeology; their first lecture in Ireland for some years presents some recent work in the construction of artificial geographies in Ireland and India with their latest completed project the Thapar University, Patiala, Punjab. The approach to the architecture of a great new campus is to consider the whole University as a landscape and to make a new and more evocative geography out of the constituent buildings-evoking and extending nature to form rocky heights and shaded valleys – then creating a route through them from one end of the campus to the other.
