Back for its second year the Open House Belfast festival will take place on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 October 2016 delivered by PLACE. The programme this year includes some of the city’s most interesting buildings and spaces opening up their doors for the public to experience via guided tours, free of charge. This year brings a diverse line up to include some of last year’s favourites along with iconic Belfast buildings fascinating engineering projects, new sites and developments, sneak peak’s behind the scenes at some of the city’s most bustling work places and even a few invites into the homes of Belfast’s architects and designers.
Whether you are a resident of or a visitor to Belfast , this is your opportunity to discover the city from new perspectives. From exploring empty and disused spaces to uncovering the wealth of unseen activity that happens daily around us, the programme invites visitors to relive the past, and see into the future.
PLACE is an independent not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting great architecture, design and planning in Northern Ireland. Their purpose is to create a better place to live, work and play. Working with various types of organisations, institutions and government departments across Northern Ireland to encourage high standards of design and engineering, and increase public engagement with their built environment to promote community development and healthier societies.
