Now in it’s sixth year, Open House Limerick 2018 festival is taking place from 19 – 21 October. The topic ‘Architecture is Community’ is being explored in this year’s Open House Limerick festival, with interest in how space is used by different groups, both as a place of congregation or through layered uses that are re-imagined through time. New additions to the programme will include the Gardens International building (Hanging Gardens), the newly refurbished Dell Buildings in Raheen Business Park, Henry Street Garda Station, the new Courthouse on Mulgrave Street and a range of residential projects of varying scales, as well as a talk presented by the team of the Free Market project, which is currently being exhibited in 2018 Venice Biennale.
Open House Limerick has grown from it’s very successful inaugural festival in 2012 to hosting almost 4,000 visitors in 2017, and we want this interest in architecture and public space to grow even bigger. We are inviting expressions of interest from all architects who have completed new build or refurbishment projects in or close to Limerick City and County. If you would like to submit an expression of interest, please submit three photographs (internal and external shots) and provide the information listed below:
– Location / address of project
– Confirmation that project was completed by RIAI registered architect
– Brief description of project
We would welcome all submissions to be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 10 August 2018.
The full OPEN HOUSE LIMERICK 2018 programme will be live on openhouselimerick.ie from September 2018.
Most building tours are open on a first-come, first-served basis. A small number of building tours will be available to book, details in September.
