Kilsaran’s New External Wall Insulation
Concrete products specialist Kilsaran have moved into the external wall insulation market, distributing Henkel’s Ceresit-Ceretherm System in Ireland. Whether new build or refurbishment, the Ceresit-Ceretherm external insulated façade (EIF) systems have been designed to thermally insulate buildings, irrespective of their size, location, technical requirements and age. The systems also have numerous other advantages including helping to eliminate thermal bridging. All Ceresit-Ceretherm externally insulated facade systems are seamless and totally weather resistant but they will freely permit the transmission of moisture vapour from within the building fabric. “The market for installing external wall insulation it growing and we want to be a big part of that,” says David McKeown. “The fact that there is a sizeable grant available to homeowners for insulating their home is helping the market but there’s no doubt that our increasingly cold winters and the spiralling costs of heating homes is the ultimate driving force. The market however is not limited to retro-fitting with new school specifications featuring external wall insulation.” The Ceresit-Ceretherm System offers a large portfolio of renders and paint finishes, all with different textures, grain sizes and an extensive range of colours providing unlimited design options.

Schueco’s PV Modules Cladding
New from building envelope and renewable energy specialist Schueco UK Limited is SCC 60 with ProSol TF, a cladding system for the side of buildings and other structures, purpose-designed for use with ProSol TF thin-film PV modules. The resulting ventilated façade is multi-functional and can provide weather protection, excellent insulation and sustainable energy production all in one package. Many types of buildings in both the private and public sectors can benefit from Schueco SCC 60 with ProSol TF including multi-storey flats and offices, warehouses, industrial buildings, hospitals and colleges. Moreover, since it is ideal for retro-fitting, the system can be used to rejuvenate old buildings by improving their energy balance, cutting CO2 emissions and equipping them with a new income stream. In addition to the cladding system and PV modules, Schueco also supplies all the additional components, known as the BOS (Balance of System), such as wiring, connectors, inverters etc that are needed to achieve an optimum system configuration and low system losses.
