‘Reading the City’ is a new exhibition by the Dublin-based German artist and printmaker Elke Thönnes. It explores new methods of reading the city by placing iconic city structures onto a variety of maps, often referencing their genesis.
The artist says: “My work is often about contact with architecture and the memory these structures hold. The tactile nature of the work is a comment on the craftsmanship and architecture of generations past.”
The exhibition will be formally opened on Tuesday 21 October at 6pm by RIAI President Robin Mandal. All welcome.
