The National Housing Conference takes place on 20 and 21 May in Dublin Castle, jointly organised by the RIAI and the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government. 2019 marks the fiftieth anniversary of the first biennial National Housing Conference, which was held in the RDS in March 1969.
2040 Delivering the Vision for Housing is the theme of the 2019 National Housing Conference, exploring the positive influence of the National Planning Framework (NPF) on the future of sustainable housing in Ireland.
The organisers have announced a line-up of Irish and international keynote speakers, addressing a range of topics prompted by the National Planning Framework (NPF), which will impact on the future form, design, location and delivery of private, affordable, and social housing in Ireland. The keynote speakers include Fergal MacCabe (FRIAI and FIPI); Paul Hogan (Senior Advisor DHPLG); Paul Karakusevic (Karakusevic Carson Architects, UK); Riëtte Oosthuizen (HTA Design LLP, UK); Gerard McCreanor (Maccreanor Lavington Architects, UK); Stephen Purcell (Future Analytics, Dublin); Philip Jackson (MRIAI, Urban Design Committee); Jo McCafferty (Levitt Bernstein Architects); Michael Ford Bradley (MRIAI, Copenhagen); John Moran (CEO, LDA).
