The RIAI Public Choice Award is chosen by the public and is dependent on how many people make online votes for a project in order for it to win the Public Choice 2017. The project that has the most online votes is declared the Public Choice winner 2017.

A shortlist of 60 houses, offices, schools and colleges, heritage locations and public spaces has been announced and is available to view on the RIAI homepage www.riai.ie. The shortlist is selected by the 2017 Irish Architecture Award Juries, from projects that have been entered across 13 different categories – projects have to be practically complete in 2016 in order to enter the RIAI Awards. This includes the Future Award (formerly Best Emerging Practice) selected by the Architecture Ireland editorial board.  Now in their 28th year, the RIAI Irish Architecture Awards are the premier architectural awards in Ireland. The Awards recognises excellence in design and the contribution made by architecture to society for everyone’s benefit.
