As part of the Dublin Festival of History 2018 the Wood Quay Venue in the Civic Offices will host a half day seminar ‘The Last Century: Dublin City and suburbs in the 20th century’ on the buildings features in More Than Concrete Blocks Vol.2, 1940- 1972 (for publication December 2018 with Four Courts Press). This seminar will focus on the history of Dublin’s architecture from 1940 to 1973 including the largely overlooked 1940s and 1950s. With a look at specific building case studies and locations, the seminar asks why so much of this period is contentious.
