Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios (FCBS) and PLACE are hosting a series of events that focus on the way our cities are used and how they are changing. The series will explore some of the big ideas that have made cities better places to live, work and play in. Can these new and exciting ideas challenge conventional wisdom help our cities thrive?
Belfast is on the cusp of significant opportunities including Ulster University’s new Belfast City Campus, Streets Ahead public realm works and the anticipated changes in corporation tax which will attract private sector investment. Will Belfast make the most of these opportunities?
The world we live in has changed dramatically over the last 10 years, technology has transformed the way we communicate and share information. What are the real life applications for design in this new age?
Each talk will focus on examples of how cities, neighbourhoods and business have been transformed by design-focused projects. Are these applicable templates for Belfast going forward? The series is programmed by FCBS and forms part of Belfast City Council’s City as a Gallery initiative, which PLACE is delivering. These events are being held in a disused building so if you have any special access requirements please let the organisers know in advance.
